At this point he may as well wait it out until someone goes down with injury and he can get just the slightest bit of leverage.

Anyone who signs Dallas loses a draft pick to compensate the Astros. No one wants to lose a pick for a one year deal, but no one wants to sign him long-term either

He would be best served to a) resign with the Astros for the offered $17M for the next 2 seasons... or b) wait until 1/2 the season is underway and sign for $10-12M for one year with the team that loses their first #1 or #2 starter...

I doubt that offer still stands with the extensions given to Bregman and Verlander
He needs to sign somewhere on the most lucrative a 1 year deal and hit FA again next year without the draft compensation attached to him and a new agent.

To be fair, I think everyone is shocked that the free agent market has done what it's done in baseball the last few years.
I think there will be hell to pay in the next CBA.

Keuchel went 5 innings. Gave up 8 hits and 3 earned. Took the loss to the Nats.
I didn't watch the game, so might have been a lot of soft contact on those hits.
