13 years for $330 million??? That's a terrible contract.

I hope the Phillies win.
Watching the Rangers, Orioles, Marlins, and all the tankers sucks.
Would love to see a team add pieces and win and then maybe others will copy.....because right now everyone is copying Houston....suck for a long time and build it up.
I would pay an extra $10 every time I went to a game if it meant we would have Harper.DallasAg 94 said:Ryno01 said:

No one who like baseball, should be excited about a 13 year contract. $25M per year. If they have 2.5M fans in attendance. .. that's $10/fan/game, for 13 years.

Actually there is no opt-out clause, and apparently that was per Harper's request.
Is it safe to assume it never got worked out since they University Nights are posted, and there is no Texas A&M listed?AccidentProne said:
I haven't heard anything yet. Unfortunately, A&M is actually one of the more difficult schools to work with and is usually the last one scheduled

A good, young closer locked up for 4 years at a good price is even better trade bait. There are 2 club option years for an additional $13 total on top of the 4 for $14, so he's under club control for up to 6 years.MSFC Aggie said:
Don't know what to think about that. Figured he would be good trade bait this year to get some prospects.
I hope he's more of a "new age" manager than Banister was. Haven't heard much out of him so far.AgBQ-00 said:
So I heard an interview with the new manager. I was relieved to hear him talk about not giving away at bats and grinding and not chasing outside the zone. He did not sound like a 2 true outcome type of guy. Was more interested in doing the right things and let the results take care of themselves from there. Talked alot about controlling what you could and not giving in to the opponent. Was really encouraged
never quit....for real this timefree_mhayden said:
