Does the wild card always play the 1 seed in round one, even with the 2nd best record? Would it be yankees/sox if yanks win play in game?

yes, that's another reason why it's really important for the Astros to win the division. Won't have to eliminate both NYY and Boston this year

it's baseball and they have Baltimore in their division. I think one of them will clunk out rather deliciously in the playoffs anyway.

You want to win the division just to avoid the coin flip game.
