Just heard from a coworker that he's friends with the guy who threw Puig's homer back, and the guy will be in LA for the game tonight

4. They showed the Dodgers manager get a big huddle in the dugout in Game 3 or 4 and do a "Dodgers on 3" little cheer so I think they probably do some rah rah at times.
I saw that too and thought it was pretty weak and silently chuckled to myself. I've never seen that happen in MLB baseball.Quote:
For the most part, especially watching AJ Hinch who seems to be the calmest manager in baseball, they let their guys do their thing and don't try to screw with their rhythm. He doesn't seem to ever be talking to the players unless he's pulling a pitcher or checking with the player before a challenge. Baseball players are funny in that they have their own superstitions and routines that managers probably don't want to screw with.
I think AJ talks quite a bit to the players. Often times I've noticed him talking with Verlander or Keuchel on their off nights while standing there looking at his spreadsheets. Seems like he talks with the guys in the hole as they wait on the steps before getting on deck. I also remember at one point this season McCann was sitting there in AJ's spot with the data all in front of him like he was the one driving the bus.
In my opinion I think AJ interacts with his players more than the average manager. It may not be super in depth conversations about particular strategy that may cause confusion and I imagine it's more overall thought process and game knowledge, but I do think AJ is very good at communicating with his players and sharing knowledge.

No his wife is on the left.side of the shot. They live in my neighborhood in Cypress and a group of them flew out this morning. They have front row seats in left field.

Do you think if Yuli hit 3 HR's tonight the MVP presentation would be awkward?
I like Marwin's arm in the OF.R-Dog said:
I think the question may be more Maybin vs. Gonzalez since Marwin has been so bad from the right side of the plate lately.
While each has had some key hits, overall 6,7,8 and 9 going Reddick, Gonzalez from the right side, McCann and the pitchers spot...man...makes you feel like a rough patch there trying to keep innings going.

Just leave Marwin and Reddick in

Thing is, they have the watch party there and I could totally do it. May have to pull that rabbit out of the hat if we go to 7.
Also, btw, typing this up from the can.

Yep. Now is not the time to tinker.
