I agree. I think at this level no mound visits should be allowed. Let the catcher talk to him if need to give a pep talk, but once there is a visit, should come out. Would help speed up the game.

Yep. He was my in-law's neighbor for a couple years in College Station until they moved last year.

Don't click on the tv. On the Astros home page scroll down and you should see a banner that says something along the lines of "watch with root sports."

Yeah but I think that takes away a pretty significant strategy.

Mound visits are BS. A starter has 5 days to get a game plan together and they have signs with the catcher. And it a complete momentum stopper when a team may have a pitcher on the ropes.

One every once in a while if he gets in trouble or if he's off mechanically, but I've noticed multiple visits per innings or even in one AB. The Rangers were bad at it during some of those high leverage innings against us.

Just bad luck that their superior skills can't quite overcome.

There could also be another way to yank a pitcher besides having the manager slowly walk out to the mound and conference with the in field. He should be able to make that move from the dugout and the current pitcher just leaves the mound and the next pitcher comes out from the pen.
