Yo Mendez (SP-21-LHP) <- That would be a BIG loss.
Andy Ibanez (2B-23)
Eric Jenkins (OF-19)
Joe Palumbo (SP)

I'm guessing the conversation was more around Profar\Gallo\Mazara and YoMen and then probably another AA pitcher like Jurado (20-RHP: Our #6 prospect).

Profar + YoMen + Jurado?! Too steep a price, IMO.

Already missing Hendricks (CHC: 30GS, 2.13 ERA, 0.98 WHIP), and Eickhoff (Phi:33 GS, 3.65, 1.16).

Rangers have nothing that compares to Moncada.

Bostons GM is dong an incredible job and has built up a ton of good prospects.


And Brian cashman said yesterday the Red Sox are now the golden state warriors of baseball. Steinbrenner rolled over in his grave over that. If he were still around he'd murder cashman.

Eh, hard to really pat the Red Sox GM on the back for this deal. They paid $60m+ for Moncada... There's only a couple of teams in baseball that could have made that type of overpay.

It essentially works out to trading 3 prospects to Chicago AND making Sale the a $33m/year pitcher.

That's a move most teams would love for their GM to be able to make, but not exactly one that is all that shrewd -- it's just a moneywhip.
