The guy who was guest hosting the Louie Belina Show on Friday had Brian McTaggart on his show. Brian said he will be shocked if the Astros don't add another starter before spring training. He also said Aoki is a very under the radar addition and will play a big role on this team. Also said there's no chance the Astros still go after EE.

Is there a way to watch the Astros games online? I am trying to cut cable but the only thing holding me back is the fact that you have to have a cable sub to get Root sports...
Also, I live in Houston and MLB network seems to be blacked out here for games.

The only way to watch astro games online without cable is getting MLB network online sub and using a proxy to mask your location. Or stream "illegal" online streams.

Your first option is to use free live streams. I used to use sites like first row sports, but you'll get a million pop ups and the quality isn't very good. I've been told that reddit has ways to watch the game that are better than sites like first row (still not great), but I've only used those once or twice.
The other way to do it is to use a VPN. Essentially, this is a location spoofer. Someone else probably has better knowledge (my brother already had one and set it up on my computer), but I believe for the decent quality ones, you'll need to buy one. I'm pretty sure they're pretty cheap (like $5-10 a month). Then you just choose a different location outside of Texas and whatever state the opposing team is from, and you'll be able to use MLB TV without being blacked out

Also, in the past, you've been able to have a bunch of people use the same MLB TV account. I usually split it with 3 or 4 friends and we've never had a problem with getting booted for having too many people watching
One summer I purchased an MLB.TV account and used unblock-us.net on my router and could stream them on a roku easily.
Can you use the different VPN thing while using a roku stick? I'm leaning towards using Sling TV on a Roku stick
Yes... that's why I went with unblock us. You have to put their DNS settings in your router.
I've gone the DNS route to watch ESPN while travelling internationally and it's worked with no issues. Basically you just change some setting on your router / device to what they tell you. It's simple enough
Ah cool, I have Xfinity right now so I'll just do standard internet through them and get my own router. Stop renting theirs.
I would do the same but I am a slave to Root. I have to have astros games, rockets games, dynamo games. Not about to pony out for all those packages.

So everyone here knows Hinch is the king of changing lineups, but I found it interesting that in the 2 seasons he's been manager, he's never used any lineup more than 4 times

Think about all the call ups, injuries, and lack of a true first baseman. Outside of 2B & RF we've gone through a ton of players.
Think about the jolt to Springer's RBI opportunities we are about to see this year. Here's the wRC+ for the bottom 3rd of the lineup last year...
6th - 69 (tied for 30th in MLB)
7th - 69 (29th in MLB)
8th - 103 (6th in MLB) *** This shocked me, honestly.***
9th - 70 (8th in AL)
Assuming
1. Springer
2. Bregman
3. Altuve
4. Correa
5. Beltran
That leaves these guys and their projected wRC+ according to Steamer
Gattis - 104
Reddick - 112
McCann - 95 (still think the projection systems are harsh on him)

It's safe to assume that Springer RBI opportunities should see a dramatic increase.

I think we'all do better then we think hitting wise. On any given day pur 1 - 8 batters are way better then they used to be so pitchers won't have the luxury of pitching around our good hitters to get to the crappy ones.

Springer should not be leadoff
Good Springer is a great leadoff hitter. But bad Springer seems to be around more often than not, and he blows in that role.
I'd be interested to see Bregman get some time at leadoff.

None of us knows how Hinch will approach this lineup... it'll drive us crazy all year.
I fully expect at least one lineup to be purely just to **** with us, like he just sorted all available players by OBP and just put em in that order and worried about positions later. Well be playing in an NL park but he'll find a way to play McCann, Beltran, and Gattis all at the same time.

I don't think it'll bother us as much as it has because of the quality of players we have now.
And if it means not seeing Jake Marisnick and AJ Reed in the same lineup I'd be perfectly fine playing Beltran, McCann, and Gattis in the same lineup.
It may be frustrating seeing different lineups but with the bats we have it'll be hard to make one that has too many holes.

Jim crane needs to pony up and go get EE for 3/70. Just do it, don't let him go to Arlington
The only thing that makes me hesitate about wanting EE is the loss of a draft pick that is attached to him
The failure rate of MLB is pretty dang high even for first rounders. I would have no issue giving it up for EE even it hurt the draft due to having less money to spread around.
