Ranger fans need to get their story straight. I was told they had forgotten about the bat flip, and it played no part in the brawl. If I'm to believe Bautista got what was coming to him, then the bat flip was the reason.

The bat flip pissed the Rangers off

Bautista spends offseason talking about the Rangers probably beaning him

The Rangers beaned Bautista, probably in retribution, as an exclamation point to holding him to .179 at the plate over 7 games

Bautista then tried a takeout slide on Odor, escalating the situation

Bautista then got in Odors face

Odor then damn near punched Bautista's beard off




This story really isn't complicated.

The key difference here is that we're fans of the team Odor plays for. Astros fans seem just as worked up about this as Blue Jays fans, which is just weird and sad. Not to mention if Altuve was able to jump high enough to hit an a**hole like Bautista with a right cross after 6 months of simmering hatred y'all would be just as excited.
