Cubs have really started hitting since the break. I think the graphic on today's game showed they were tied or leading the majors in homers in that time period, and a lot of guys are having noticeably better ABs up and down the lineup.

Cubs crush the Braves to complete the 4-game sweep. First time since 1945 they've had four different 4-game sweeps in the same season. We all know what also last happened in 1945.

Oh, we are now TWENTY games over .500.

The Cubs need to go 3-37 in the last 40 games to beat their record from last season. I hope they can do it.

What a game. Lester was one out away from a complete game 1-0 win before Bryant hits a walk off HR in the bottom of the 9th.

Soler is out with an oblique problem, and they think he'll be absent at least a month. Also, Russell is day to day, so Coghlan was sent back to the outfield while La Stella played 2nd and Castro went back to short. Castro did get a hit yesterday.

Another exciting finish. Too bad Lester couldn't get the win. Lot of tough games this week, should be interesting. The Cubs have gone up 6.5 on the Giants, but also interesting is that the Pirates have gained on the Cards to the point of being 3 back.

Russell was only out because his girlfriend went into labor. He is expected to play today.

Went to see Billy Joel at Wrigley last night and our seats were down LF not far from the field. So of course after the show I had to go find the Bartman seat. Felt a bit evil when I sat in it. I think they should paint that one black. Or maybe just remove it entirely.
