Junkhead - Just booked flights to Chicago for July 17-20. Taking the wife and 2 kids to a game on July 19th.

Any suggestions since our first time attending game? Should I buy bleacher seats? i'm freaking pumped as I've never been to Wrigley

Also, any recommendations where to stay ?

I'm partial to the bleachers but it's not always the most kid friendly atmosphere. It can get a bit rowdy out there at times. But the positive is that you often have more room to relax, especially on a weekday afternoon game. Plus those seats can be more affordable than other "good" seats. I always stay with family when I go home so I won't be much help there unless you have the scratch to stay at that fancy new hotel right across the street from Wrigley. If not I would advise you to find a place close to a red line stop on the L.

River North, Gold Coast..... those are the big hotel areas. And both very accessible to the Red Line.

There's always AirBnB if you want more room, especially for the kiddos. Often on par or cheaper than hotel pricing, too.

I've never been to Chicago so thanks for any tips. Kids are 10 and 7 so pretty good travelers .

No, do not rent a car. Use the L as much as possible. It's way easier & cheaper and the kids will probably get a kick out of it. Uber for anything else. It's a giant PITA trying to drive in the city.

Darvish is a lost cause (and lost $$$ for that matter). If Chatwood can be serviceable then things may be looking up. NL Central is freaking good though!!!
