Interesting that Schwarbs is getting slimmed down. It looks like the Cubs are having Jesse Rogers follow him around and get potential trade partners to forget his last season.

Interesting Darvish and Machado rumors lately. Still wish most money Cubs spend would go towards the pen.
I can see Darvish happening. He's one of the few FA SPs available. We will overpay for mediocre performance...but that's the going rate.
I don't see Machado happening, if no other reason than being a FA In 2018.

They already signed Brandon Morrow a few weeks ago. I think he'll probably be the closer. Hate to lose Davis but I'm glad we didn't give him that contract.

I've assumed all along with will either be Darvish or Cobb but at this point it wouldn't shock me to see them go with a lesser priced guy that isn't well known. The market is not in Arrieta's favor. Even Boras seems to acknowledge that.
The bigger issue will be KB. Boras will take the Cubs for everything they have.

The Cubs now have 4 starters projected by ZiPS to be worth at least 3 wins. The rest of the NL Central combined has 2.

I wish they'd consider a 6 man rotation for at least a portion of the season.
Key for the season IMO is still the bullpen. Justin Wilson needs to wake up and Dillon Maples needs to emerge as a dominant high leverage guy. Obviously Morrow and CJ need to keep up what they have recently been able to do.

We're roadtripping through Arizona during spring break and I figured out a way to get through Mesa and catch a spring training game.
They'll be playing at Hohokam Park (now the A's home) on a Monday evening - any tips/advice? I've never been to spring training before.
If you get outfield GA, can you access the rest of the stadium? Or are you cut off?
