I'm a Contreras fan (for reasons known only to a 6 year old, he's my son's favorite cub) but I would not have thought he would be 3rd highest fWAR player for the Cubs his year.
Bryant, Rizzo, Contreras, Happ, Heyward, Russell, Baez, Jay, etc.

Stellar outing for Montgomery today. 6 innings, 1 run, 2 hits, and he hit a solo HR.
Pittsburgh tied up the game in the bottom of the 9th and won in the 10th. We are now 1.5 games out of first. The Pirates go for the 4 game sweep tomorrow while the Cubs have a day off.

I don't put too much stock into lineups, but I'm not sure why Heyward was leading off with Jay playing when Heyward has been on record as having a mental issue with leading off.
Have we seen Baez up top yet? Not sure he has the plate discipline though.

Love Javy but a big no to him leading off. John Jay was 4-4 yesterday. I really like that guy.

he's always been a smart guy. I remember seeing him playing catch with random kids in the stands during rain delays.
