If hes not, then half this team isn't. He got a hit in each of the Pirates games.

Cubs win 4-0. Great start for Montgomery. Rizzo with another lead off HR and Happ homered too. Pirates have a nice lead on the Brewers in the 9th so if that holds the Cubs will only be 1/2 game out of first again.

I'd guess an OPS over .800 is pretty good for a CF/2B.

Rizzo is 6-6 with 3 HR's leading off the game.

I think that's a tough position to put your pitcher in. I didn't see the Aybar at-bat, but it looks like they walked him after pitching 2 balls to him? The Win expectancy analysis indicates that walking to load the bases to get a DP hurts your chance to win. Even though he homered, he is only batting 218 this year. The Sz fly could have been the last out of the inning... (and, if he walked him after 2 pitches because you didn't think he could get him out, why did he pitch with the bases loaded?!)

But, the Cubs were playing on borrowed time that game anyway. 8 hits to 2 would make you think the score was much worse.

Trying to get his head screwed on straight for the playoff push in August and September. I think he was over hyped coming in to the season, but he's better than the .171 hitter he has been.

They need him before then. I didnt get a chance to hear Theo today, but in previous interviews hes indicated that he has a mechanical component to his swing not working either.

I hope he's back in Chicago mid July but I'll be happy to go see him play out here in CO Springs if he's not yet.
