A guy at the bar brought this up last night. I had a hard time coming up with a good 2nd string.

Who is your 2 deep?
And could that team make it to the championship this year?

Stockton, Nash
Ginobili (does he count?), Doncic, Korver
Peja, AK-47, Wally Szerbiak
Nowitski, Brad Miller
Gasol, Vlade, Illgauskas

Some names to add to your list: Kevin Love, Pre-injury Gordon Hayward, Marc or Pau Gasol (depending on which one you meant by just Gasol), Nikola Jokic, Steven Adams, Porzingis.

The list is pretty rough is you were only allowed to include white American players.

Yeah the European guys help a lot.
At first, we were feeling pretty confident when we could include Bird and Mullin. Then, the bartender said, "since 2000". We had Birdman and Reddick coming off the bench by the time all was said and done. One guy got in an argument that Klay Thompson should count.

Gotta include White Chocolate Jason Williams.

Then you've got to make a case for Blake Griffin and Klay Thompson being white. Steven Adams?

If Euros are included, Goran Dragic & Andrei Kirilenko.

If Obama counts as black then we can count Blake as white.

Steven Adams would not be considered "white" in his own country, he's part Tongan.

This list has Blake Griffin & Klay Thompson as white, so they can be claimed.

Rik Smits should be under consideration (2000 was his last year).

And don't forget this guy....

I have always found it funny that someone who is half white or even predominately white but with some African features would be considered black.

Hardly any African Americans are 100% African and so someone like Klay Thompson is probably more Caucasian than African. I don't want to turn this into a political thread, just wanted to share some advanced racial metrics.

Well I guess if we are going back before 2000:

Guards: Bob Cousy/Jerry West/Pistol Pete/John Stockton
Forwards: Larry Bird/ Dirk/ Dolph Schayes/John Havlicek
Center: George Mikan/Bob Pettit

I guess it is how you look at it.

Stockton was great in the 80s and primarily the 90s.

His 3.5 seasons in the 2000s were not what made him the great player.

Since his best years were in the 80s and 90s, I can.

Hell I wouldn't expect anyone stateside to know about his play in the 80's. Oh well guess we're old.

I'm gonna go with their peak quality counts, whether it was post 2000 or not, since it makes my team substantially better.

I think anybody over 35 that considers themself to be a serious basketball fan would know about young Arvydas.

Looking back at his stats from his fat, old, broken down years in Portland, I'm surprised that his assist numbers weren't higher (only 2 apg). I remember him being a great passer.

" The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States in the 20th century. It asserted that any person with even one ancestor of sub-Saharan African ancestry ("one drop" of black blood) is considered black (Negro in historical terms).
