The women's team just beat Chelsea to win what I believe is their version of the League/Carabao Cup.

This game is boring AF so far

Ten minutes remaining and the match has become very nervy.

Wow - if someone told me the possession %'s before the match I would envision City winning 2 nil or something like this. 28% possession is crazy low for our squad.

Happy with the result, less so with the performance. Our press was completely ineffective in the 1st half and we couldn't beat theirs throughout the whole game. Set pieces and goalie distribution are usually our strong points and we were poor in those areas as well. Very lucky to get the draw.

Did they have a dangerous shot on goal? Our defense was strong and they're good. With our history away to MC, this is a great result and we're still in great position. Lots of twists and turns left in the season.

Haaland should have scored on that corner late but managed to let it squirt right between his legs as well

Maybe but should have does not count. Despite the possession they were not dangerous from open play.

They haven't been dangerous in open play in all 3 matches this season really. They recorded 2 shots on goal in the 2 league games and both were from corners.

I couldn't be a fan of a team that bunkers all the time. That was stressful as hell never having the ball.

As much as I agree our press wasn't particularly effective the first half, I think we had a higher xG in the first half then they did.

They left themselves a bit stretched down the wings as they flooded the middle to beat our press.

Just a very weird and bizarre game from an Arsenal standpoint.

Interesting CF speculation this morning..... there is an Italian "transfer specialist" (not Fab) that is claiming Osimhen has already agreed terms to join an EPL side this summer. This is leading to some speculation that Arsenal is the team. The reasoning.....

- Osimhen stated that if he joined the EPL it would be Arsenal or Chelsea
- Arsenal are competing for both the EPL & CL this season and conceivably will continue to the next several season. Chelsea is currently mid table and may not have Euro competition at all next season
- Neither team may be in the position for a 100m purchase without some sales but Chelsea is in a worse spot after their splurges the last several windows. Arsenal's net spend in the last 3 years is 405.53m. Chelsea's is 606.91m.
- Arteta is on record stating that our CF plan has not changed in the last year+. This has led to unanswered questions of.... (a) plan to add a CF, (b) plan to add a specific type of CF or (c) plan to add a specific player at CF?

It's Arteta, we won't be rotating much if at all

By rotation I'd expect 2, maybe 3 max. I do agree its unlikely.

I could see Zinchenko for Kiwior since Kiwi played a ****load of minutes during the international break. I'm not convinced Saka should start, but he probably will. Wouldn't mind starting Partey over Jorginho to get minutes into his legs.

Luton has an insane amount of injuries right now.

I'll be damned. He did rotate. Rice, Jesus and Martinelli not starting. Saka isn't in the squad at all

Rumor that Reiss Nelson is starting.
