None of us really know what's going on, but it is clear Arteta doesn't fool around with players who don't want to put in the work or aren't prepared to sit on the bench. Or, in other words, Arteta clearly highly values commitment to the club.Strangely Attractive said:
If only we had a promising young Striker on the bench…. What a perfect opportunity for Balogun but it appears a deal may be close.
I would start Trossard at the 9 over Nketiah. He's just too good.

I feel like if he's going for 40 million (or whatever the market price turns out to be) after helping lead Brentford to its best season in literally forever, I feel like it will be tough to beat that price if he starts playing sporadically.chjoak said:
Agree with you if he loses out because he doesn't perform well. If he plays well but Rams plays better, making a profit is still doable. That and I highly doubt we pay close to their asking. No one is gonna give them that much, they have already replaced him and he has already agreed to join us.

Very good article by Ramsdale in the Player's Tribune. Interesting timing given the Raya speculation, but it touches on a number of his experiences both as a player and in his personal life.

EXCL: Arsenal have submitted opening bid for David Raya to Brentford tonight. The proposal is worth £20m fixed fee plus £3m add-ons 🚨🔴⚪️ #AFC

Raya told Brentford that he wants the move as personal terms are already agreed. pic.twitter.com/PyEfro0tIu
🚨🧵Exclusive: According to information from a person familiar with Arsenal's deal with the Emirates, I can reveal that the value of the sponsorship will exceed the massive £60m+ a year (€70m) starting from the 24/25 season. 🚨 Brentford expected to turn down opening Arsenal offer for David Raya but proposal is only slightly below what #BrentfordFC are seeking + talks continue. Both parties want deal for 27yo GK to happen & are now working on finer details @TheAthleticFC #AFC https://t.co/Rl88gjK9hG

Understand the proposal has been made for permanent transfer, talks advancing with Arsenal.
Crucial step in goalkeepers domino as #AFC keep negotiating with Brentford for David Raya, deal getting closer. pic.twitter.com/ebhozL9l75
NEW: Inter have made new contacts for Balogun who have always been the first choice: he is the priority, deal can be done at 35M euros. Arsenal are open to close the deal. (@AlfredoPedulla) pic.twitter.com/m40wqYJmNQ

Price going down and those ****ers would probably let him leave on a freeQuote:
Inter would like to offer the same 25 million euros plus 5 in bonuses, leaving a high resale percentage to the Gunners: it remains to be seen whether the London club will accept the offer.
I would do 25+5 if they include a 40m buyback good for atleast 2 yrs, right of 1st refusal & minimum 25% sell-on. Willing to have limitations on availability of buyback but sell-on & RoFR are good for length of contract.wangus12 said:

I like Jesus but I don't see him as our long term solution for ST. Need someone with better finishing. Would like to retain a reasonable buyback on Flo incase he proves to be really good. Otherwise I think ST should be #1 on our priority list next summer.TXAggie2011 said:
I'd cut them a discount for a buyback clause. We don't even know that Jesus is our answer at striker, yet alone anyone else. And we won't find a known answer on the market for anything less than 70, 80 million, or who knows how much with where things are headed

Verbal agreement in place, personal terms also agreed — clubs finalising the details and then it will be sealed.
