With this unprecedented 2020 season, we're going to see another dose of Aggie soccer this spring. Unfortunately, we'll be down 2 stars with Addie McCain and Jimena Lopez.

But we've got 3 new freshmen on campus.

The schedule should come soon as regular season games can begin on February 3.

The spring season will run from Feb 3 - April 17, with post season selections coming on April 18.

The NCAA Tournament will consist of 48 teams, with 31 automatic qualifiers and 17 at-large selections. Vandy won the SEC bid for taking the conference championship. We'll be battling for an at-large bid. Hopefully we continue to look as deserving as we did in 2020.

The Women's College Cup will be held jointly with the men's in Cary on May 13-17.

I thought the all SEC teams wouldn't only be playing OOC games.

Vanderbilt announced a spring schedule of 2 exhibitions and 4 non-conference games. They don't need to impress the NCAA selection committee because they won the SEC tournament and got the conference's automatic bid. Their goalkeeper transferred to North Texas.

She also kicked a field goal in Vandy football game, and participated in the presidential inauguration.

UT announced a 6 game non-conference schedule, including a home game with North Carolina. USC will also play North Carolina. I think we will schedule some higher ranked teams also to help make the NCAA Tournament.

Florida announced an 8 game spring schedule including games with Georgia and LSU. They were 2-7-1 in the fall. Aggie Soccer Twitter put out a tweet yesterday with a video showing the team practicing, so maybe yesterday was their first session.

Man, I hope so. I've been looking around the ACC and Big 12 and haven't seen anything.

And now they've already cancelled their April 1 game with Texas due to COVID/Travel concerns.

We've got the Ragin Cajuns on March 20.

I'd expect to see some sort of schedule or ticketing news soon with our first "scheduled" game looming.

LSU posted an interesting schedule. They're hitting Texas, Baylor, and Tech. And have a game against Florida in Orange Beach.

In the Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 they have us with a 7-2 record. They didn't log the Auburn game.

Top Drawer Soccer put out a Preseason Best XI with Sample on the First Team and Olivieri on the Freshmen Team. Of the 44 players mentioned, North Carolina had the most with 5, UCLA, FSU and TCU had 4 each, and Stanford and Virginia had 3 each.

Looks like we have Baylor on February 27th. In an exhibition...

EDIT: The sad face isn't about playing Baylor (this time). It's about it being an "exhibition game".

12thman.com has an "Off the Pitch" podcast with Coach G and Dave Ellis.
Captains for the spring will be Bates, Sample and Smith.
Team is doing 3 weeks of 8 hour per week training, then will go to 20 hour per week.
Hard to schedule games. Conferences that did not play in the fall are having conference games only. Teams don't want to risk a loss by playing us. Big 12 will not travel by air which is probably why tu backed out of their game at USC. We will play Big 12, Sunbelt and Southland teams.
All but 1 game should be here. No Admission will be charged but concession stand will be open.
G pronounced Maile Hayes first name as Miley.

The "Tentative" schedule is underwhelming compared to some other schools. No one wants to schedule a loss.

As a season ticket holder, we would like to inform you that all events for the 2021 Aggie Soccer spring season will be open to the public through general admission seating.

Admission will be free and seating for each game will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis depending on availability under Ellis Field's reduced capacity restrictions. Spectators are asked to leave two seats between their party and other spectators seated on the same row.

IMPORTANT: While Aggie Soccer games will not be ticketed this spring, seats will still be limited under reduced capacity restrictions and therefore cannot be guaranteed to all who choose to attend. If Ellis Field reaches capacity prior to your arrival, Texas A&M Athletics will be required to cease admittance at that time.

Got the email yesterday as well. Does "general admission" include the west side or is that still going to be ticketed?

First come, first serve for all sections.
Club access is still allowed to Aggie Soccer Club members.

Our new freshmen are NOT allowed to play, which is dumb.

So you have many teams with short rosters and you won't let early enrollees play?

I guess having the ncaa make any logical decisions would be a miracle

Has anyone seen the actual NCAA statement on whether January enrollees can play? I would guess the spring is just an extension of the fall 2020 season, so in order to play in the spring you had to be eligible in the fall. I would think the 3 new players should be able to play in an exhibition game, but I guess we'll see.
