I took a look at the French-language fan forum for the Clubfeet, and the derision is overwhelming. The general perception of the name is that it is indeed Euro-centric. The supporters feel they weren't consulted/included and have started a petition against the rebranding:

As for the snowflake, here are some of the supporters' thoughts:
- Isn't MLS a summertime sport?
- Is this trying to overemphasize the "north" like the Toronto Raptors did?
- Imagine trying to get a Latin American player to come to a team with a snowflake on its crest.
- Doesn't a snowflake have 6 sides?
- It looks like an anus.
- The mini logo at the top of mlssoccer.com is indistinguishable.
- It's better than the red toilet seat the Canadiens use.
