No doubt they will come out playing dirty to throw us off our game. I like the test as these young guys will have their chance to bow up against them. Guys like McKennie and others aren't going to back down from anyone and I welcome it. We need that experience.

I think Mexico is going to come out and try to embarrass us, as they think they should win this game by 2-3 goals. McKennie is the one I'm concerned about, he has a tendency to overreact to situations.
They are definitely going to press us hard early, and we better be ready to work hard off the ball to break it. I also expect Morris to start, and I think they will be vulnerable to his runs in behind Jozy when Jozy checks to the ball. Mexico has also not handled being pressed very well themselves.

I don't think our backline has the speed to compete with them.

We'll see. The best side doesn't always win.

The Portuguese do but they are probably the worst offenders in Europe. The other thing I meant is that there are plenty of South American players in Europe so I'm sure the players are used to it...I just didn't articulate that very well

While I agree with you, I think I'd like to see cannon and Zimmerman both start this game. I think they have looked strong and cannon has the obvious speed to hang with them.

The key is getting one of our center backs to blanket Jimenez and don't let them play off of him. When he's able to hold the ball and distribute it causes problems for defenders.

Likewise, I hope we press back at them just as fast and, like mentioned above, whether it's morris or Boyd send them in behind and let them go to goal often and early.

Ok. I just don't see hacking and flopping as a strategy in Bundasleiga like you do in CONCACAF

It's hard to compare leagues to international play. Since a league game has less on the line, giving a red card is more easily done. By being afraid to give red cards and even yellows the games just dont have good established boundaries.
