But I'm honestly shocked that playing for the national team does not count as service to the country (with or without winning some title). I get the incentive too but a great player could miss out on 2 years of competition if they just don't have a good team in their time. And they could still do the 4 weeks of mandatory training per year that are required for those who are exempted while still competing.
so the ones that are pro players in the korean league, there is a military team for those players...so they do their military service while they play pro level football in the military...
but yeah, i get what youre saying
