Portland's RB was waaay back and played him on. There's only one replay angle that showed him back there and they didnt dwell on it much at all, but i remembered watchign all the replays durgin the game and wondering the same thing until that one clip finally showed the guy back there

tldr: 14 teams get in, top seeds in each conference get a first round bye. higher seed hosts a single elimination game. No reseeding and the Cup will be before the November international break.

I don't love that more than 50% of teams make the playoffs, but the last couple years where that hasnt been the case has been an anomaly in that regard. Not having the playoffs interrupted by the break will be nice, though I kinda liked the Cup being in that window between cfb conference championships and bowl season.

I like the single elimination game. More exciting and a clear outcome.

Interesting about no re-seeding. A hot 6 or 7 team wouldn't have to face #1 till the conference final.

I don't like adding more teams to the playoffs, personally

I hope the idea is they won't change it once they get more expansion teams in.
