Interesting talk this morning on Sirius XM. They were half joking that the losing manager out of PSG v RM will be on the chopping block for going out so early given the talent they are fielding. But then it turned a bit serious with Zidane. He caught lighting in a bottle last year in his first full year in charge, but this year they could finish a distant second or even third in La Liga and get knocked out in the R16 here.

The question is this: is the real Zidane the manager from last year or this year? Its his first gig so he has no track record at all.

EPL resurgence and they get half of the teams in R8.

EPL teams really got off pretty easy in the knockout stage draws.

Yep. And it'll be hilarious when no EPL team wins CL.

And deservedly so. 4 of 5 won their group.

Real Madrid - PSG***
Barca - Chelsea***
Sevilla*** - Man U
Juve*** - Tottenham
Basel - Man City***
Porto - Liverpool***
Bayern*** - Besiktas
Shakhtar - Roma***

I'm not smart enough to bold the winners. I think we're gonna see Barca and RM both out this round which would be very entertaining to read the fallout of that.

I'd be surprised if 5 EPL teams make it out - at least two will figure out ways to choke their favorable draws away.

With RM and Bayern finishing 2nd in their groups, 3 of the 4 EPL group winners could've drawn against either of those two teams. I still stand by the fact EPL got lucky with the draw.

The draw was as good as the EPL could have hoped for.

Arguably Bayern was even luckier. They had a draw against Barca, Spurs, United, City, Pool, Roma and Besiktas. They drew Besiktas.
