McKayla was also in uniform tonight but did not play. Incredible energy tonight by Mikaela and Ally. Their keeper had 10 saves but not 11 thank goodness. 2 years ago their fans cheered like crazy when Mikaela got knocked down in the box and picked up a second yellow in the Sweet 16 game. Maybe it was justice that she got the winner in her last regular season game against them.

Thank goodness for Harvey. Excellent goal and great work rate. Good effort by the entire team. Watt creates many good opportunities but needs to learn to keep her shot down. She will become an even bigger contributor by hitting some of those on the ground. It would nice if we get Bates back soon to help up top. Crabtree is improving and working hard but she continues to struggle with making more of a contribution. We need her to keep making improvements.

Pretty solid midfield play although more ball control would make it easier for the entire team. Other than Harvey, Mahlerbe is by far the most skilled of the midfield group.

Backline held it together again. Solid effort. A few scary moments but Ole Miss couldn't close the deal. Our defensive group looks to have good chemistry.

I love how hard the entire is playing. Keep it up.

After starting the year undefeated and untied, Texas is 0-1-2 in their last 3 matches.

2 games in a row now where a late goal keeps the season alive as far as SEC title hopes. It was going to take something special to score tonight with all the missed chances and a great save by the Ole Miss GK on great shot by Watt earlier in the game. Harvey basically dribbled through half the defense and set up her own game winning shot, which was very similar to Watt's but just out of the reach of the GK. Normally I wouldn't encourage a lot of plays where you take on the entire defense, but because of all the injuries to key players and not much depth, I think Harvey will need to do more of this the rest of the season.

A&M got off to a good start but then it was obvious the team was feeling the effects of playing only 13-14 players a game during a brutal number of games over a 14 day period. The midfield could hardly run outside of Harvey and at times Malherbe. Watt set up some good chances in the 1st half but we just couldn't finish. But Ole Miss was really controlling the game in the latter minutes of the half and the defense was hanging on for dear life to just get to halftime. In the 2nd half it was pretty even, with both teams having chances on goal, but I don't know how Ole Miss missed a couple of point blank chances, including one that was basically an open net. So overall, with a little luck, the defense held up against a potent attack. The midfield did really struggle to keep control of the ball and build attacks, with most of the chances coming on long balls from the back line.

A&M desperately needs Emily Bates back in the lineup because right now there are only 3 dangerous players on the field for us right now in Watt, Harvey, and Malherbe. Thankfully we now have a week off to prepare for the last couple of games of the season. With this current winning streak, the goals are still there for the team (outside of a #1 seed in the NCAAs) so it's been good to see the team begin to trust that they will find a way to win games in the end.

Malherby needs to look to shoot more, we need her as a scoring threat. Crabtree needs to be able to finish. Watts work rate was very high and had several really good chances, gotta find the back of the net more. Their keeper did a nice job. We had nunerous shots that just missed being on goal.
Ritchie hit several nice corners, but we were basically hitting it into a group. Would be nice to have some movement and try and hit a specific player for the redirect.
Nice effort overall.

Great to see so many soccer alumni at the game with their families. I think the newest alumni family member was Rachel Shipley's baby who I heard was 3 weeks old.
Went to the alumni game this morning. Fortunately they played 7 on 7 on a smaller pitch. Very impressed with the skills of the players; they must be involved in coaching or something. Beth West played about the same way as when she was here.

Same ref, I believe, as a game or two ago who swallowed her whistle for the first half and finally awarded a penalty kick to us in the second. Missed some big ones Friday and called several ticky tacks. The officiating continues to be one of the hardest things to watch with woman's soccer.

Nice to see Briana Alston make the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week

The Aggie defender helped keep a clean sheet against Mississippi on Friday, as Texas A&M eventually emerged with a 1-0 win. Alston played the full 90 in the victory.
