You may be the one that contacted me, but I'm not sure. It's near impossible to find timbers in the size you're looking for. The old barns were made mostly with square timbers or not far from square. 8x8, 8x10, or 10x10. Let me know if you can make any of those work.

Nope, wasn't me. 8x10 would probably work. It's for a mantle that would be temporary until we have an old mesquite milled to take its place. Then I'd build this piece into a long bench. Not totally sure I can make it all work but wanted to check if you still had anything.

I'll post some pictures. These are all hemlock and super old and super dry. Average weight of an 8"x8" x5' is about 40 pounds.

I'm interested in a mantle without corbels. Can you tell me how you attach them to the wall?? Really long screws? I'm not putting through Masonry, just Sheetrock into studs.
