What year is the rifle? Any paperwork with it?

Sadly no paperwork... I asked my father to dig through his gun papers and he could not find anything.

So when I look at the Remington markings on the barrel, it does not have the 2 letter digits. From 1999-2001 Remington did not include them. So I am speculating the gun falls somewhere between these years. If you know of another way to identify year manufactured, please let me know.

I don't. Just trying to understand its history a bit more. I am traveling for work this week. Let me think about it. If you sell before the weekend fine. If not I might want to come look at it. I am in cypress.
