Both trailer and truck are SOLD pending funds.

The Museum of the American G.I. has one (1) U.S. Navy General Purpose Shop Trailer for sale. Trailer was manufactured in 1969. Trailer is in serviceable condition. It was manufactured in 1969 and refurbished/resupplied in the 1990s. This trailer comes fully loaded as issued to include all technical manuals, machines, machine documentation, hand tools and supplies, except as noted. Does not include welding tanks, electric welder, or welding sticks - however, there are storage bays intended for such items. Clamshell sides open up as well as the back for full exposure. Sides fold out and down to provide extended working platforms around lathe, bench grinder and drill press.

Trailer is titled, but not currently registered, in Texas.

This is a full-fledged, mobile machine shop. Includes, but is not limited to the machines listed below:
  • lathe
  • drill press
  • bench grinder
  • valve lapping machine
  • air compressor
  • multi-ton presses - including one (1) 100-ton press and one (1) 17.5-ton press

Includes, but is not limited to, the amenities listed below:
  • 30KW diesel generator - has new batteries
  • Ship-to-Shore power cable
  • on-board air storage tank
  • work lights at each work station
  • fold-down desk
  • ventilation fans throughout
  • chain hoist with I-beam track running down center of trailer and able to extend out the back
  • no less than three tool boxes filled with brand-new, still-in-the-wrapper hand tools (wrenches, dial calipers, screwdrivers, etc.) and electric hand tools such portable drills
  • complete original set of canvas perimeter curtains for use during cold and/or wet weather conditions - curtains enclose the trailer on sides and back.

Located in College Station. Trailer is road-worthy, or can be trailered. Local pick-up only. Loading help is available. Machine specifications and more photos available upon request. Appointments can be made to see everything in person.

Yes, and most of the machines still have a cosmoline coating on the unpainted, finished surfaces. Tools in toolboxes are still in the sealed paper/foil pouches. In addition, there are various assorted fasteners and other hardware in bins within the cabinets or in their specialty cabinets. This thing is a treasure trove of useful stuff. I will try to post photos of the complete manifest.

Everything is fully functional. The only things we've done to it are 1) conduct an inventory on the contents, 2) reinstall the drive belt on the air compressor, 3) repair one ventilation fan, 4) replace the hydraulic line on each of the two pumps that are used to raise the sides, and 5) repair the fuel injector pump on the generator. The two hand pumps that are used to raise the sides could benefit from a little rework.

If I was gonna be a gold miner in the Klondike I'd be all over this, that thing is legit.

Some sort of mobile onsite repair service for oilfield equipment is what I am thinking.

I'd assume it requires a tractor trailer or a large diesel flatbed appropriately equipped to tow it?

Looks like it weighs ~30,000 pounds. An F450 Superduty can pull it.

Some of the things listed, but removed by the Navy or us for safety reasons include, but are not limited to:

battery acid

Two items listed on the manifest that we haven't laid eyes on are:

There were two sections in which I didn't open all the boxes. There was a LOT of stuff to look through.

Any way, both the trailer and the truck are sold pending funds.
