Helen Perry (College Station , Texas artist) - (1985) - Original oil on canvas entitled "Running For Cotton"
NOTE from owner: "The artist, Helen Perry, told me she
painted this to commemorate Texas A & M's first black quarterback playing in his first A & M vs Texas game. Kevin Murray broke his ankle and could not play, so Helen put the painting away, but allowed the Texas Aggie Magazine to print the painting in their October issue. Somehow prints were circulated for sale. When I purchased the painting for my husband, I requested a letter from the artist giving me exclusive rights of ownership and reproduction (to be included in sale) dated 1/14/86. It hung in my husband's law firm for over 25 years."
