It's both mom and dad but a tall mom usually will give you a big kid. Assuming they get nutrition etc
Put a Discus in that kids hand. We need to ensure our Track and Field team keeps its natty run going 8 years from now.

That is hard to know. Crownover is 6'7" and 6'8" is the tallest I have seen play OL at a high level. However, we do know any from our area that is 6'11" and is going to Cal Berkeley to play LT. He rebounds like a beast, still working on his 3 pointer.
I had a freshman student about 15 years ago who was 6'8" 365.
Saw him a couple years at Carmax. He was 7'2" 280. He had lost all his baby fat. When he was in HS, he was being recruited by Saban, etc - everyone. He was lazy, and never went anywhere.

Seriously though, if he wants some shotput or discus tips I did throw for A&M. He is at the age where he can really develop some skills, and may be a good backup plan for a scholarship. With his size, some decent technique and he could really throw, just look at Randy Matson 6'7 265 Olympic Gold medalist

I always heard look at the mom's brothers.
My mom was probably average to short-ish for a woman, but had two brothers over 6 foot. Coaches and teacher-coaches in HS said that made sense. My dad was not quite 5'11.

As my coach told my my mom every time he saw her, he'd say "keep feeding him biscuits, then feed him some more". Took me until 18 to reach that height.
It's one thing to be 6'6" at 13, but its another thing entirely to be well proportioned and athletically built. He looks like he's in the body of an 18 year old. Very impressive. He also looks extremely happy and like someone that would put in the work. All the best! Make sure he continues to have fun and enjoy it.
