Holding is so common and so often ignored, it shouldn't be called at all. Or the rules should be followed and the game will grind to a halt with penalties until players learn how to block without holding.

The problem arises when it is randomly called and kills a big play or a strong drive regardless of the team on which the penalty was called.

As someone mentioned in a previous thread, the refs have too much influence over which team wins a close game.

Is this the new excuse for us continuously losing games we should win, or even meaningful games? Nobody's gonna address this, nothing's gonna change and nobody else in America is cherry-picking stats that negatively affect their teams.

Don't drop passes. Don't fumble snaps. Don't get in a 21-0 hole on the road. Stop missing tackles. Fix the things we can control and stop whining about the refs. Refs can't be changed. Take some effing accountability and move on.

I can't fix anything. But I can discuss referees calling the same fouls on us that they refuse to call on the other team. Pointing out what is at best one of the most unlikely coincidences, and at worst bias, can happen at the same time that we demand more from our team.

Or we can stop being like Arkansas fans and never admitting defeat. With them, it's always the refs fault or someone cheated. We've never been bested and it's never our players or coach's faults. Always a conspiracy.
