For those at the game last night, was it just me or did we go from wanting to hear the Band better to it was so loud as to almost be annoying?

If 12th Man Foundation reads these threads....

Love the problem-solving idea... I am for a solution to balance and hear the Band better with having a DJ to pump us up at opportune times. But it was too much and "bounced" around the stadium.

Idea: Add smaller speakers hanging from the second and third decks above the Band. You need only boost the sound a little bit and from the angle from which the Band is sitting.

Again, loved the idea, execution was a bit off.

It's like we went from one extreme (can't hear the band at all) to the other (no DJ and the band volume was too loud to appreciate it)

I'm wondering if it's a matter of where you were sitting because it didn't seem really loud to me. We were in section 406.

I was in 405, near the front. So, no, don't think it was a matter of where I was. Everyone around me thought the same thing.

Again, that said, I like the idea. Just didn't need to be as loud, and the speaker was turned toward the north endzone, so it literally bounced off the north endzone and made it sound like the Band was there. Simply, if they hang smaller speakers from the overhangs on second and third decks, probably would "sound natural" and be the right volume.

I was in 114, and NOTHING about the game sounded loud last night, band, DJ, the 12th man… it was kinda dull all night

We noticed the same thing in sec AC10. It was a nice surprise! Turn it down just a touch. Definitely less DJ last night. A much better balance.

It's always been louder in AC10 than 118.

Kyle field has had trouble with piercing treble frequencies since they added the new sound system. It's that it's gone on for this long, but I think it's just the fact that most of the audio engineers suck at their jobs. Hell, Louie Belina can't figure out how to stop his own mic from clipping and Olin still doesn't talk into the microphone on the pregame show.

Watching the game last night on the SEC network, they mentioned the FTAB would be shown on the alternate SEC network at halftime. I'm not sure if that's routinely done but wonder if that could have had something to do with the different approach.

No they usually do that for all SEC schools when playing on the SEC network I'm pretty sure

348 here, yes there seemed to be new speakers positioned on the NE and SE end zones. I complained to Stadium Folks a few weeks ago that we can't hear **** of the announcers or videos. They responded it's because there are no speakers for the 300s South Endzone so maybe it's all my fault? That or we're just testing for the TU game to be heard over the crowd.

During the Spirit of Aggieland I couldn't hear hear the Hump it Ags.
I wish people wouldn't yell it…but that's not the way I don't want to hear it.

Agreed. Again, not downing the idea. I like they are trying to make the sounds of the Band more prevalent.

But we too (in 405) couldn't even hear the lyrics when we sang the Spirit or the War Hymn. Literally, couldn't even hear our own words coming out of our mouths!

Like the idea, they just need to turn it down a little.

If Ags don't know when to hump it without hearing a crowd command, we've got issues beyond the volume of the sound system.

But last night was definitely different than previous games this season. I was trying to figure out if the powers that be were deferring to the FTAB over the DJ since it was Military Appreciation Night ... I don't know.

Section 403, the band was loud up there. I liked it. But I imagined down on the first and second deck it could have been very loud. But I did like the increased sound of the band playing during the game. Odd because the DJ seem to have increased his base, this game compared to previous games.

We were in 245 and the speakers were incredibly loud. They turned them down mid 1st quarter a bit, but it was so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you. They looked aimed right at the visitor section so we all surmised they were testing it out ahead of the tu game.

It's on esipn app usually. It was all messed up last night though. Could barely hear the band on the app stream. But you could hear two or three dudes shooting the bull.
It was like someone threw the wrong switch. Typical esipn!

It's fine....but turn that nob down about 40%.
