He does fit a Jackie Sherrill "bandit" type role. I think that fits us well.

lane kiffin is a good coach if he wasn't such a dbag i have a hard time believing he wouldn't be one of the top choices. he has done a great job at ole miss in the three years he has been there. he has sec experience and can work th portal. with improved resources it seems the sky could be the limit.

I think Kiffin wants out. Ole Miss wont drop the mega cash to win big. He consistently drops comments of the 5* kids they don't (and probably won't) have.

But he knows he's gotta coach his way out to his next gig.

He'd probably keep Durkin.

Always gets his QBs going and provides many entertaining games. Definitely an upgrade over what we have.

Get him our recruits and a quality DC and he'd be great here. Beat us 3 years in a row.

Laughing at all the idiots who aren't convinced because he didn't beat the #1 in the country.

Mixed emotions on Lane. I can only imagine the offense he would produce with the talent that he could pull to A&M. If he left the defense alone, we could be pretty special.

What I don't know is if I could hold my nose long enough with him as our head coach. Guess it would boil down to how much we value wins vs perception of our university.

Better to have LK than an unproven or a has been. Just that concept right there puts him ahead of most other candidates.

And I don't care if he's a bit of a jerk. We are looking for a head ball coach; not a Sunday school teacher.

I'm definitely in the same boat. His offense is always fun to watch, and he seems to have an excellent grasp of the current landscape of CFB when it comes to the transfer portal and NIL.

Regarding his "antics," I feel like it could be a lot worse. It's not like we're bringing in Hugh Freeze or something.

Would I be heartbroken if Joey Freshwater stayed at Ole Miss? Nah. But I definitely would not see him as a downgrade from Jimbo.

I keep hearing that Bjork and Kiffin have connections. Does anyone know how they are linked? Also, I haven't seen it reported that Kiffin has strongly denied interest in the job. Others have.

Sorry are you for real? The perception of our university is a mediocre football school that never wins anything and overpays for our football coaches, with gay male cheerleaders.

Lane Kiffin isn't bringing us any lower.

Perception in that we don't knowingly bring clown shows into the fold as head coach - not the status of the program. At the time they were hired we thought pretty highly of Fran, Sumlin and Fisher. Not so much when they were showed the door.

IMO, Lane has achieved or is well on his way to clown show status, based on his on and off field antics.

The kind of perception you are talking about - in my lifetime, we only achieved during the Sherrill and Slocum eras.

I truly don't understand the infatuation with Kiffen. As a head coach he was 5-15 with the Raiders, 7-6 with Tennessee, 28-15 with USC, 26-13 with FAU and 31-15 with Ole Miss. That does't jump off the page as a world beater head coach.

Add on the fact that he's a super dewsh, I'm out. If you like his offense, hire him as an OC.
