Wasn't Steadman the one that had severe heat stroke in Junction? I think if it weren't for Billy Pickard he may have died,

It's also interesting how in the photo of him in his office his smile and eyes are warm and inviting and in the picture in the operating room his eyes are very focused and intense.

The player who almost died at Junction was Bill Schroeder. He gives credit for saving him to a local
doctor in Junction who, because he was aware of the heat and the tough football practices, had been saving ice in a freezer. He packed Schroeder in ice when they brought him in.
