Another shake-up in college athletics could see UCLA and USC join the Big Ten as early as 2024, according to multiple reports.

The Pac-12 teams are in talks to leave the conference in time for the 2024 season, with an official announcement expected to come sometime in the next 24 hours, ESPN reported, citing sources.

What a joke. Let them rot in California. PAC is a Midwest conference not west coast as well. So Oregon to the SEC next? This is getting out of hand.

I don't see why the Pac 12 would be any worse off then the B12 was after the news of OU and Texas.

Like the B12 pulled from the AAC and an independent, the PAC can easily pull equivalent level teams from the Mtn West.

Maybe the MTN West and AAC can form a new Super Conference that spans the nation. WE can call it Conference - USA!

The whole cultural values thing is tired, nobody outside some zealots want a puritan conference. Trying to form a like minded conference and insulating against anything different is close-minded and self defeating. Mix it up, would be fun as hell to have west coast schools with contrasting ideals in the conference.

Fit, like- mindedness, cultural values were all BS in 2011. The press releases and the quotes said otherwise. But it was all transparent even then. Everybody was still taking the best deal.

In 2022, if anybody believes those things they have a mental deficiency.

Stanford, Tech, Cal and Baylor would jump into a conference together, exactly tomorrow, for the best deal. All the press releases over the past year about "like minded schools, academic- focused institutions, attention to student-athletes", etc, anyone still believing that, has a mental deficiency.

The ACC and PAC12 people, if they believed their own press releases over the past 12 months about all that stuff, in "The Allliance", and how they handled CFP expansion, had a mental deficiency. If anyone involved, doesn't openly admit after what just happened to them, only further confirms their mental deficiency.

Inessential children got played.

NONE of the whole "like minded schools, education- focused, protection for the health of student athletes" stuff has been true for anybody over the past 20 years.

It was cover when somebody else got something you were both jealous/nervous about.

But people sure read and believed those press release quotes/comments about "here's what we're gonna do and here's what we're about."

No doubt…does Baylor have Midwestern Values? How about Texas? Midwestern values? Hilarious when humans stereotype regions in ONE country failing to consider there is an entire globe for which to account..
