I'll settle for a Huddle House.

Maybe next time try the menu instead of out back in the dumpster.
Man, that place was good. Not trashy, smelly and sticky.jsc8116 said:
Are you thinking of The Kettle?
Hmm. I thought there was a Kettle on or near the SW corner of the intersection of Texas and Southwest Pkwy. Kinda near Pelican's Wharf. Am I wrong about that?Aggie said:
On university across from polo fields there was a kettle.. their sign out front did not say "Kettle"
It had individual little signs , one letter on each sign…and in black letters with yellow background it spelled out " PANCAKES"
Looked very very similar to the signage of a Waffle House
I believe this is why many confuse it as there being a Waffle House .. but it was a Kettle.
They still had this username available in 1999? What the hell? Good job, snaggin' that!Aggie said:
And this is exactly why the Waffle House is popular.
You don't really like it, hell you probably have never even been to one….to you it's just the southern thing, the SEC thing to like the Waffle House.. so you adopt that feeling as well.
I doubt you have ever even been to a Waffle House.

@ Aggie: ok that explanation makes sense, and has to be what I'm recalling incorrectly. My mistake
@ Muy: Never. Probably why I assumed they were soccer fields… lol
So to recap: I'm terrible w old Aggie landmarks, but waffle house is absolute garbage
If someone gave you a pecan waffle from Waffle House on a plain white plate, you would say it's the best damn waffle you ever had
Lies from satan! Dont ever tell me which waffle is the best.
unless you weigh more than I do

I love Waffle House.
You must also like flies and the homeless guy in the corner.
The sticky tabletops are an extra bonus...

Three pages dedicated to Waffle House debate! That's fantastic!
Stayed in Gulfport Mississippi for a few days. There was a Waffle House pretty much on either side of the hotel. It was amazing. You're never more than 2 blocks from Waffle House.
Mi esposa does not agree with the"amazing" part....at all.

I must be mistaken, I thought there was an old abandonded Waffle House on university near texas. across from the soccer fields.
It was long closed by the time I saw the building in mid 2000s

You don't intentionally set out to dine at Waffle House. You end up there sometimes, but never plan in advance to go there.

After a night of drinking, Waffle House is great for fried eggs, grits, and hash browns.

But still worse than virtually every other option serving those things

Also not to derail completly from Waffle House..
But Kettle restaurants at one point had over 265 locations nationwide… today there are only 4 Kettle restaurants open.. And one is in college station and one in Bryan.
Other locations are in one Laredo and one in Tuscon, Az
