Reminds me of the John Wayne movie 'She Wore a Yellow Ribbon' when the platoon sergeant says "Watch them words" and someone in line responds "Watch them grammar!"

The SEC split into divisions in 1992.

There have been 7 seasons where the West champion had 2 losses, and 2 other seasons where they had more than 2 losses. This does NOT include the couple of times that the "champ" was ineligible due to sanctions so a 2nd place team played:

93 (Bama 5-2-1)
95
96
97
98
00
01 (LSU 5-3)
02
07

LSU in 2007 was the last 2 loss team to win the Division

2017 Auburn but that includes one non-conference loss to Clemson. The last team to win the SEC West with two conference losses was 2007 LSU, who defeated 9-3 Tennessee 21-14 in the SEC Championship Game and 11-1 Big 10 Champion Ohio State 38-24 in the 2008 BCS Championship Game.
