Although I don't think he was designated the official 12th man (wears #12), Don Muhlbach was a walk-on (12th man). Just finished a long NFL career.

LOTS of walk-ons that were never the "12th Man". The same could be said during the 12th Man Kick Off Team era too.

All walk-ons are the 12th Man. I got news for you, all students are the 12th Man. One football player gets picked to represent the 12th Man on the team and wear number 12. It was 10 players before RC changed it to one.

I figured the op was referring specifically to those players which is why I qualified it. I do not know if Mule was picked to wear number 12. I don't think he was but I couldn't find who it was for 2003. I believe walk-on Linebacker Blake Kendrick was the 12th Man chosen in 2002.
