Announced on the radio this morning.

They have hired a yet to be announced replacement (is apparently an Aggie with significant media radio experience).

Thanks to Gabe for all his hard work the past 10 years. He did an excellent job the past 10 years leading the creation and running of that radio show. I'll miss him.

Sounded like transitioning partly to support wife's growing business. Will still be involved with TexAgs on some content related projects. Planning to be a guest on the Radio Show 1 day per week, etc.

Anyone interested in his announcement and what he exactly said regarding his own future plans, go to the TexAgs Radio podcasts on the KZNE 1150 website and listen to Hour 2 of today.

That's too bad. I've sometimes poo-pooed his takes because he tends towards over-reaction Monday guy, but as a local radio show host he is quite good and has a very good cadence for radio.

Will miss Gabe a ton. When I think of Texags Radio I think of Gabe. Will miss hearing his voice. He probably didnt even know, but he was a natural at connecting with his audience and guests on the show. No matter who they get, they won't be as good as Gabe in my opinion. Hope this isn't permanent and he comes back to host again someday.

So Gabe and Looch hinted:

- Significant experience
- Def a He
- Aggie (ring and all)
- Metro area guy
- Name Brand Guy, so he's been around a while or has a big following

They hinted they were "surprised" to get him.

Lopez would actually fit the bill.

Went to Gallery Furniture this weekend and met the guy who's renowned on here for doing a Dave South impression. It was spot on and hilarious. Maybe they get him instead.

Gabe has done a fantastic job in the host role and will be missed.......so wonder now who's "next in liiiiiiiine".......

I think Brauninger would be great in that role but doesn't fit all the above listed criteria. Your guess is as good as mine.

If you watch Gabe's video pinned at the top of the board, the replacement is a man who has 'a ton of radio experience in the Metro area, has even been on some national shows'. And 'is an aggie'.
