There are 130 schools in the FBS.

129 of those fan-bases are jealous of the Bama fans, who have been riding the greatest run in college football history for over a decade now.

Only about 10 of those fan-bases are at schools with the current resources, infrastructure, and coaching to even think about building a program that may have a decent chance to eventually consistently compete with the Saban Death Star.

A&M is one of those handful of schools.

Bill O'brien is gonna slow Bama down...they'll still be good but nothing like last year on O. He's just a terrible coach.

Op, That isn't going to stop Jimbo from whipping that midgets ass on Kyle Field this fall.

It's impressive what Saban has done. He hasn't just got to the top of the mountain, he stayed there and fought others off the top. Sure, he's lost some battles but by and large he has remained at the top for an incredible amount of time. He wins the recruiting battles and on the field battles.

I hope he stays at Alabama for a long time because there may never be another run like this where someone comes as close to perfection in college football as he has.

I remember years ago where we said the same things about the sips. Where are they now? What goes up always goes down.

Bama just signed the highest rated recruiting class of all time of any team ever, by a decent margin.

13 players in the top 57.
16 in the top 91.
7 five stars
An average recruit rating of .9500. To put that in perspective Shadrach Banks has a composite rating of .9494 so Bama's AVERAGE recruit is rated higher than him.

This is basically like MJ with the Bulls in the 90's. We just gotta stay strong and wait this out until it's our time.

If it's the 90's and MJ is there, then you need to say "Chicago Burwls".

So the Ags can just take a page out of the Houston Rockets' history book and beat them a couple years in a row.

edit - yes, I know MJ took time out those years for baseball

Would a better analogy be Isiah's Piston's? (Not a perfect comp) Given our physical style?

To date it feels like we've been Reggie's Pacers... which as a Pacers fan is very frustrating.

MJ returned mid season in 95 but the Bulls lost to Shaq and the Orlando Magic in Rnd 2. The same team Houston swept in the finals.

Georgia is still the great puzzle to me. Only one playoff appearance, owing to not having to play Bama in the SECCG that year (and they lost to the Tide in the end), recruiting against Bama AND Clemson AND UF AND Miami, and still manages to draw the talent.

my favorite Alabama factoids are their winning streaks over Arkansas and Tennessee.

13 years and counting.

it won't be long before those teams will be fielding players that were not alive the last time the Tide lost to UT or Arky

The system needs to be set up so that only so many 4 or 5 star players can go to any one school. Maybe set the cap at 5 for all schools. No more talent hoarding at one school.

Just cut the full scholarship limit to like 65. Partial scholarships thereafter. Even Bama couldn't stack the talent they do that way.

I thought about that one but decided against it because MJ and the Bulls had to first overcome the Pistons before they were on top.

Bama would just be more selective. The bottom 5-6 guys in their recruiting class would get the ax and not get the opportunity to go there.

Or even worse those players decided to attend anyway at partial scholarships instead of taking full rides at other schools. They already do that now by greyshirting or blue shirting a player or two a year to get able to sign 27-28 a year.

And yet ole miss used to always give them a tough game and beat them 2/3. How's their recruiting?

Or maybe they're the Lakers/Celtics. Dynasty level.
And we're the Bulls, about to make our own damn history.

Bama had a much more talented team then us in 2012. We are close to them recruiting currently on both offense and defensive lines. If we can get elite QB play anything can happen. In 2019 LSU beat them handily with great QB play and opportunistic play calling.

Handily?? Bama had a chance to beat em. Only lost by 5.
Fuzzy memory, but I think they turned the ball over a lot that day too. Still almost pulled it out.

2012 OL for A&M was elite with several first rounders. Mike Evans at wideout was big time too. Christian Michael and Trey Williams were huge recruits at RB as well. I'd say 2012 offense had more talent than 2019-2021.

We gained a huge advantage when their whole staff turned over. Close the talent gap and keep coaches and schemes is a neutralizer.

If only that was true.....this is a quote from the Brockermeyer's dad.

" "People think position coaches and area coaches are critical and all this and that," said Blake Brockermeyer, the father of Tommy and James. "Winning, program consistency and development is all that matters to those with great options. We love Flood and Scott, but the equipment manager could have recruited us as long as Saban is there."

Well you are about to get your wish as Congress is trying to pass a bill with NIL and other "professional" provisions thrown in that will even further detach the "student athlete" from the need of a college scholarship.
This makes "college" football even more of a farce than it is already.
These kids don't come here for college...they are just here to boost their chances at the NFL.
They have virtually no interest in the school or its traditions and share nothing in common with real students.
So take heart toptier...it will be full blown professional with minor league salary structures in place soon enough.
Then they can't call themselves college athletes or A&M Aggies..because the hypocrisy would just be too great at that point.
Maybe College Station Maroon...something like that.
Sorry if the truth hurts.
