It's obviously no one's fault but his own, but man that's gotta be brutal to live with

I sometimes wonder if he'll make a good coach. On one hand, his understanding of what happens on the field seems to be there, as well as the decision making (just on the field). On the other hand, he doesn't really play a game style that can be coached.

Thoughts?

I doubt his mental conditions would allow him to be a coach. Bipolar disorder is no joke and I seriously doubt anyone with it will be able to handle a job that demands patience as being a sports coach.

No way. He would be good on TV though imo.

I have no experience in the area: but I've read that sometimes a demanding job that requires a lot of focus can be good for some mental disorders?

It was mostly his fault, but he had a coach who was terrible and didn't want him.

No one can succeed with that combination.
According to the Biden White House, what Joe Biden says does not represent the official position of the Biden administration.

If he cared about being an NFL QB, he would've stayed on the team for the next coach or been picked up by another team.

This.

His best was more with improv and backyard ball, relying on athleticism, and WRs breaking off routes to find soft spots....and less playing within any system.
And once he got to NFL, that gap in athleticism got narrowed, making it harder to play it his way.

He said, himself, that he didn't understand the X's and O's. He probably couldn't coach in a traditional sense and you can't coach what he has.

Did you see the cloud of smoke?

It doesn't bother me that he smokes at all. But in your opinion who would hire him to teach, coach and mentor?

He strikes me as someone who is a more natural talent and feel for a subject. Granted, those people tend to be some of the best at what they do, but they also have a very difficult time conveying concepts and ideas to people because they don't process them the same way as everyone else. If you ever had a professor who knew a subject matter intuitively, you know they can also be some of the worst teachers.

If you only watched this video of JFF...you'd think he was related to Post Malone.

Honestly JFF should start a podcast. He could bring on other athletes that have struggled with addiction or other athletes in general. I'd listen to it in a heartbeat

I think he could be successful with a YouTube channel where he golfs with different celebrities and athletes. People like that type of ****

He looks terrible. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think his story is going to end well.

Delonte West comes to mind. I went back and rewatched. Fidgety, and looks strung out. His mannerisms looked like he was on an upper of some kind and his eyes looked like he just smoked a ton of pot to "come down" for the interview.

I feel for the guy. Chemical dependency is tough to beat.

I was thinking more like Ken Caminiti. God I hope he gets help and it doesn't come to that.

That podcast with his agent and Kaycj was horrible.
I was a huge fan, defended him for a long time, but the guy isn't likable enough for a podcast. Even when he's being genuine he doesn't come across genuine.

Almost no doubt based on the video he's still on drugs.

And remember, Johnny has always been good about knowing how to say all the right things when interviewed. His physical condition in the video speaks volumes- his words are meaningless. Sad.

Good lord, he looks like he weighs about 125. He looks strung out. I really hope this does not end up being a tragedy. He gave us he best year that I can remember in Aggie Football.

I was at an Aggie sporting clays tournament with my brother when we watched the 2012 A&M/Florida game. We both were looking at each other like, this guy has it. Very sad to see where he has fallen.

I pray and hope that he pulls his crap together. He is articulate as hell and relates to people, that is a gift that he can leverage if he can get out of his own way. We as Aggies have put a lot of pressure on this guy to be excellent and to be something that we thought he could be, our hopes were misplaced. Johnny needs to find his place and be happy with where his is.

It was a weekly podcast for barstool. But it was only around for less than a year and I think it's been almost 2 years since the last episode.

That porn mustache doesn't look great, but I don't think you guys have been around someone that's truly high. People that are high enough for noticeable impairment don't speak as cogently as he just did (take out the generational bad grammar that it seems almost all younger people typically use with each other); not to mention other mannerisms of people that are high. Not even people really high on just weed speak that well or articulate their words that clearly.

Considering the condition/shape he's been in the past, I don't think he looks bad at all. And, I think if JFF made a conscious effort to be a little less hip-hop and a just a bit more mainstream consumption, he could absolutely be a podcast guy or something like that.

Given that there is a rather large diagnostic manual, "some" doesn't tell me very much. With bi polar, I doubt this to be the case - it needs consistency and stress regulation. Not really conducive to demanding jobs.

Does it mean that someone with BPD can't function in such a context? Not at all. But when talking about averages, I wouldn't advise it.

Say what you want about JFF but the man certainly does NOT freebase cocaine.

I mean unless he's in traffic, and he knows he's gonna be there awhile.

I don't think that's true at all. I think he went to the absolute worst case scenario for his rookie year.
It's very likely he was always going to flame out due to off the field issues.
His best chance was to go somewhere where A.) the coach wanted him B.) There would no expectation for him to start his rookie year
I think it would have been really interesting to see him getting his first real starts in his 3rd year in a system somewhere.

Ever since 2012, the guy has made an art form of appearing to have learned his lesson, humbling himself and starting anew. I believed it a few times, but no more. He never is sincere.

But, he is still JFF and I will always love him for what he did for us those two years. Been going to games at Kyle since 1956, he is by far the best football player that ever set foot on that field.
