King scrambles his way down the field and from the 10 yard line Jimbo calls a fade pattern to a receiver who doesn't fight for the ball. I don't understand the play call or the receiver

You have zero idea what the play call was, you can only comment on what happened.

"Play calling" and "Kellen locking on to / staring down a receiver" are the two stupidest things on TexAgs.

We never have any idea of the play call, only what play was eventually executed. There are run checks, there are audibles, there are "check with me" (QB) plays, there are sight adjustments immediately after the ball is snapped, etc., etc., etc. Even some our best plays may not have been what was called, but what we ran.

As for the second, you can't tell that from TV, and both McGee on TexAgs and Jimbo, who has put multiple QBs into the NFL as high draft picks, will tell you that Mond goes through his progressions and gets through his reads. On EVERY play there is a primary of course. Does not make me a fan, but it is simply not a valid criticism.

Too early for King for Heisman talk?

You don't know what the call was either. I commented on the play and I will also say that chase lane does not, I repeat, does not know how to fight for a non perfect pass, I e he doesn't know how to keep the db from getting the ball

King properly executed the read option for the first time this season. The DT collapsed down on the RB for another 1-2 yd loss, but King pulls it fo a 4 yd gain. I counted 4 opportunities where Mond could have done the same, but didn't (probably similar #s vs Vandy) . A true fish making reads better than a 3rd year starter is unacceptable.

Mond is a 4th year starter.

Totally agree there, poor effort by the WR. I don't care if you get OPI AND a personal foul, can't let that INT happen as a WR.

You clearly said Jimbo called the play and didn't understand the play call. All we can comment on is what happened. We can cuss and discuss the construct of the offense, but not individual play calls.

Anyway, this thread is about King, and he has IT!
