My favorite part of this whole thing is the ass coverage trying to claim that the change in course was somehow justified by science or data and not money.

  • Ideally, the conference would set Nov. 7 as the start date, allowing six weeks to play five games and crown a champion, as scheduled, on Dec. 19.
  • That would give the winner two weeks to prepare for a major bowl matchup and allow any other bowl-bound teams time to prepare for a revamped postseason.
  • Why only five games? Because of competitive balance.
  • Even if there's time for six or seven, how would the cross-division matchups be determined?
  • Imagine Oregon drawing USC on the road while Washington gets Colorado or Arizona at home?
  • Any scenario that includes cross-division games must have competitive balance, but that's impossible if there's only one.
  • Start on Nov. 7 or 14.
  • Each team plays five games.
  • Each division crowns a champion.
  • Each champion plays for the title.
  • There's no chance the winner advances to the playoff, but that's the least of the conference's concerns this season.

All of this going on with the PAC12 and Big10 makes this THAT much better...

  • In addition, the Pac-12 medical team believes that at least one month of practice is required for the players to prepare for the season, although there is sure to be heated discussion with the coaches about the specific number of practice days needed.
  • Those issues make an aligned restart with the Big Ten unlikely but could put the Pac-12 in position to begin play on Halloween, if everything moves smoothly.
  • The first Saturday of November could be more realistic, with a six-game regular season culminating with the Pac-12 championship on Dec. 19.
  • With only seven or eight games on its resume, the champion probably wouldn't be considered for the College Football Playoff.
  • The Pac-12's best hope to a berth is disruption elsewhere:

  • If the SEC, Big 12 and ACC are forced to postpone a handful of games because of coronavirus outbreaks, the CFP could move to the second half of January, allowing the Pac-12 to add games and field a legitimate contender.

You know the B1G and PAC don't want to play because that makes the world look more normal which helps Trump.... but money rules the day.

Fixed it for you.

I'm surprised the PAC will even bother at this point. All the other conferences stand to lose a lot of money if they don't play. Not the PAC, they hardly make any money anyway.

Sweet so if I am doing nothing at midnight I can watch a football game that ends in a basketball score.

Quick summary

Ivy League: Announces no football (Its funny just typing it)
Big10: We are just like the husky midwest version of the Ivy league so we wont play either. (The entire Ivy league rolls their eyes)
PAC: Well the husky Ivy has spoken, thats good enough for us
Rest of football universe: Naah we are good
Big10: ESPN check bounces and pitchforks come for presidents. Its seems that science has made it possible. Were back in! But in a safe scientific way.
PAC: Your move. Bikini Ivy or continue the myth that there really is a P5.

They were testing cancelling football and their football coaches said "we have contracts you need to buy out."

It needs to show the pac like drunk or stoned in some ditch or gutter and a very disheveled B1G slightly more unhinged than the last one.

Another tu dig by the dude playing the B12 would be welcome!

If they put some crappy PAC 12 team that only played 5 games in the CFP I may lose my *****

This is fine as long as they don't get in CFP. (This isn't an invitation for the tin foil hat crew to go on some fantasy about back alley clandestine agreements to let in or not let in teams, save it for your weekly D&D games).

Or perhaps they have realized that Harris/Biden doesn't have a chance and that their obfuscation efforts are no longer needed.
