They use a maroon square with a white version of our logo because thats what the athletic department told them to use.

ESPN and other newsoutlets/app creators would just slap the white version of our logo in their system as our "primary logo" and anywhere with a white background you could hardly see our logo. So in order to correct this we made it mandatory to use our logo with a maroon background rather than trusting these media outlets to be smart enough to insert the maroon version of our logo when being used on a light backgroud.

That is the logo used on our helmets and nowhere else. A&M just does not want the media using the non-beveled version for websites and graphics packages as they want to present one single version of the logo to avoid how things were in the 90s and 2000s where there were multiple versions of an aTm logo used in media and merchandising.

As shown above it is an acceptable Primary Mark of the school. We exacerbate the problem by having and using the white aTm and white lettering on the field at Kyle Field. White is an accent color and our secondary color. The midfield logo should be maroon, as should be the endzone lettering. All the other markings on the field are white (except for yellow goal line) so why would you choose to have a white midfield logo? I don't know of any other school that uses a white logo at midfield outlined in the primary school color, instead of the primary color.

The midfield logo used to be the maroon primary version until they switched to white with maroon outlines and bevels in 2016. I'm not sure why they changed it as our field could use a little more maroon on it. Perhaps its worse for the grass, but that doesnt stop them from painting the SEC logos maroon. I liked how we had one maroon lettered and one white lettered endzone when I was in school in the late 2000s.
