For True Freshmen Wide Receivers Playing Successfully in their 1st Year:

1. Catching the Ball - Yes
2. Running Great Routes - Maybe
3. Not Making Drive Killing Mistakes (Fumbling) - Maybe
4. Blocking SEC Caliber DB's on running plays - "Highly Unlikely"

We'll soon find out. One player does not make a team.

running the ball yes but seems fish rb get dinged a lot for poor pass protection.

Remember that time that none of our receivers could beat press coverage?

True. I still say rb has the easiest transition.

Most of pass pro is effort. Some rbs get a little more courageous after adding 20# of muscle. Usually a year of minimal reps provides the necessary motivation to go from bad to adequate. The real competitors choose to go from adequate to good.

O-line is the most significant/difficult jump. If you get an o-lineman who can start as a true freshman, he is a freak and a stud.

As long as they are able to adjust to high passes thrown.

I have a feeling none of the positions are easy for a freshman at the SEC level. We played a true freshman OL last year and that is supposed to be the most difficult. Having said that there are some freshman who should make a splash. Demas is one that comes to mind.
