I will add Jeff Granger's 3rd down completion to Greg Schorp against Tech in '92.

The Hit.

Leland's KO return against t.u. in 1993.

Dat Nguyen's interception and pitch to Brandon Jennings for a touchdown in the 1998 Cotton Bowl, which we choked away to UCLA.

Highlights of the Youtube are the UCLA OL acting like a water buffalo in terms of reaction time to realizing Dat ha the ball and the golly gee whillikers rootin-tootin Aggie fan who celebrates right after the touchdown on the TV.

I was in the tu student section with some friends. I was playing t cool and being kind...until that play! Within 10 seconds, I looked like I jumped in a swimming pool of Bourbon and Coke. The guy in front of me was a big ole dude. He stood up, turned around, looked me straight in the face and glowered. I was shaking in my boots. He then takes off his shirt to display a 12th man shirt and start jumping up and down with me. Another Bourbon bath ensued!

In this day of HD instant replay, you can see that Parker went OOB. But I actually give the ref credit there. When you watch it full speed he looks out at the 1.5 yard line. But if you slow it down, he may have been within a foot of the pylon. Not a terrible call, and nowhere near as bad as the fake FG TD by OU against us in 2001 in the 3rd quarter to break a 10-10 tie. I don't know if video still exists, but he was short by 2 yards, and it was 4th down.

Greg Hill's fumble into the end zone in the '92 Cotton Bowl against FSU... because he was showboating. Defense pitched a shutout...

He got stripped of the ball.. He wasn't showboating

it's amazing how many D/ST scores A&M had in the 90's...

just thinking about pick 6's...

- Kevin Smith vs. Rice in 1990...2 pick 6's in one game
- Larry Horton vs. TCU in 1990
- Derrick Frazier vs. TCU in 1991
- Marcus Buckley vs. t.u. in 1991
- Aaron Glenn's 95-yarder vs. t.u. in 1992
- Aaron Glenn vs. Louisville in 1993
- Ray Mickens vs. OU in 1994
- Andre Williams vs. UH in 1995
- Reggie Brown vs. MTSU in 1995
- Brandon Mitchell vs. TCU in 1995
- Keith Mitchell vs. OSU in 1996
- Dat vs. LaTech in 1996
- Dat vs. Iowa State in 1997
- Dat/Jennings in the Cotton Bowl vs. UCLA
- Dat vs. Kansas in 1998
- Jay Brooks vs. USM in 1999
- Michael Jameson vs. USM in 1999
- Michael Jameson vs. Baylor in 1999

so that's 19 interception return touchdowns in the 90's

-- Brandon Mitchell vs. t.u. in 1994
-- David Maxwell vs. Colorado in 1995
-- Pat Williams vs. MTSU in 1995
-- Dat vs. OU in 1997
-- Sean Coryatt vs. ULL in 1997
-- Jason Glenn vs. Nebraska in 1997
-- Warrick Holdman vs. Nebraska in 1998
-- Jay Brooks vs. Florida State in 1998

so that's 10 fumble return TD's in the 90's

A great 2-year stretch where we tied SMU 21-21 at the Alamodome in 1994 as Kyle Bryant tried a 67-yard field goal at the end of regulation for the win and missed it by about 63 yards (one of my favorite unintentionally hilarious Dave South calls of all time).

Next year preseason #3, Leeland McElroy becomes the de facto Heisman favorite after Lawrence Phillips drags his girlfriend down a flight of stairs by the hair. First two games beat LSU 33-17 and Tulsa 52-9, McElroy unstoppable.

Go to Colorado (#9). Rick Neuheisel outcoaches RC Slocum the way that Vince Lombardi would outcoach a 5 year old. R.C. calls TWO timeouts on a Colorado 2-point conversion try when they line up in crazy formations that RC doesn't recognize, and they put 8 in the box all day against McElroy but we just kept running him up the middle. Lost 29-21.

Next week go to Tech, tied 7-7 late in the game, Corey Pullig scanning the field, says "Wait, Zach Thomas is open I'll just throw it to .... OH NO HE PLAYS FOR TECH!". Lost that one 14-7.

Then down 10-0 against SMU at home before rallying to the 20-17 win. So much barf.

Yep. As soon as we let them score right before half ended, I turned to my dad (pissed) and said that the game was over. Typical RC game - play not to lose. And then lose.

Dont' know that it was wasted money, because Bourbon Street on NYE is awesome.

But the game sucked goat cojones. Marched right down the field and scored, then proceeded to quit using any semblance of plays that actually worked the rest of the game. Punted with 2 minutes to go. My hate for RC was solidified that game.

I don't drink, so it was a total waste. My main job that night was using my 6'7, 250-pound body as a battering ram to lead our group through the throngs on Bourbon Street.

all right, special teams touchdowns of the 90's:

McElroy KO returns vs. Rice in 1993...famously 2 in 1 game.
McElroy KO return vs. t.u. in 1993
McElroy KO return vs. Southern Miss in 1994
Dat KO return vs. MTSU in 1995
Sir Parker KO return vs. t.u. in 1996
Sir Parker KO return vs. Iowa State in 1997

Kevin Smith punt return vs. Rice in 1991
Kevin Smith punt return vs. t.u. in 1991
Aaron Glenn punt return vs. Missouri in 1993
Aaron Glenn punt return vs. TCU in 1993
Dante Hall punt return vs. Iowa State in 1996
Dante Hall punt return vs. ULL in 1997
Jason Webster punt return vs. OU in 1998

Dennis Allen blocked punt TD vs. UH in 1994
Michael Williams blocked punt TD vs. KState in 1997
Jay Brooks blocked punt TD vs. Tech in 1999

so that's 7 kickoff return TD's + 7 punt return TD's + 3 blocked punt TD's = 17 special teams touchdowns

So you came up with 44 total defensive or special teams TD's during the 90's? Probably missed a few, too. I wonder what Bama would be for 2010 - 2019, or Va Tech for 2000 - 2010, or Nebraska for 1990 - 2000.

How many times do you see a team hanging within a score or two of Bama, and then they just blow it wide open with a punt return, pick 6, or fumble return?

No love for the okie lite game on Nov 1st 1997?

When Tiki Hardeman burst through the middle in over time for the win.

It's hard to pick one single play, but the final stop by our defense in the 4th quarter, the ensuing drive, the TD pass to Cole, the 2-pt conversion catch by Parker, and the over time, were all sensational.

No doubt, this was one of the most exciting games to witness in person.
