Though I've never been to Autzen, but I can't say I disagree with two of his top three.

The former Alabama offensive coordinator was asked what the toughest stadium was he has ever coached in. He named three.

"Kyle Field in College Station, Texas,...Autzen Stadium, in Oregon,...and Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa:

And he hasn't been to the new Kyle Field so he ain't seen nothin' yet.

Hate to break it to you but the new Kyle doesn't hold a candle to the old Kyle.

It can be a lot better though (maybe even better).

How?

Step 1: Lose the DJ.

Which Old Kyle? Horseshoe? Zone? Bright entrance?

Kiffin has only coached at Kyle Field once, in 2015, after the stadium renovation.

Yeah let me know when that happens.

Maybe the 1st quarter of an LSU or Bama game

I hate new Kyle. The football is better, but the dj, flashing lights and constant commercials kill the atmosphere.

Kyle Field is quiet because the majority of the incoming freshman have never been to a football game. Top 10%......you get what you get

There's a reason Most NFL stadiums, even new ones, are 65 -85k fans. It's just a better experience in a smaller stadium. The NY football giants could sell many more tickets for each game, but didn't build a bigger stadium when given the chance. Seattle (even though I hate them for ripping off the 12th man) manages a really loud fun atmosphere with less than 70k.

OK. After reading some of the responses here that are dribble, I'm going to respond. I'm sure I'll get flamed, but I'll go ahead...and I'm not going to really read inane responses anyway. Anyone that thinks "Old Kyle" is inherently louder than "New Kyle" is a moron.

Acoustically we have closed in the open end of the field. We have added baffles to both mid-fields bouncing the sound back toward the field. Lastly, we have sunk the playing field adding to the effect. Even if I am wrong on all this (Ag Engineers with knowledge of acoustics feel free to pile in), what are you trying to say? "Old Ags are/were louder than current Ags?" (Current crowd made up of both students and alum, myself included, BTW.) FWIW I am an "Old Ag" class of 82" Corps of Cadets member, where we went to ALL home games and many out of town games.. That said, I have been to many many games. I was at the 7 overtime 74-72 game against LSU, and OMG it was the loudest I have ever experienced. I left with ringing in my ears and was hoarse for days from yelling. I went to the UCLA at A&M game (where I believe New Kyle was half finished) and again, it was loud as hell.

We still have these things called Yell Leaders, that make the noise in Kyle (and any where we go on a road trip) louder than any other school is capable of. And we still have the cannon, now fully enclosed. I can take or leave the DJ aspect, but the 12th Man is still the 12th Man.

I have been attending games at Kyle Field since 1965, so I have witnessed all configurations except any prehistoric wooden stands. The games that I would count as loud have a different quality of sound that is hard to describe but you can certainly sense it. The sound just goes up a notch to another level. Some of the night games against t.u. in the early 90s come to mind. Others have mentioned fairly recent Nebraska and OU games, and I would agree. The 1975 game against t.u. was loud. My overall impression has been that very few games in the "New Kyle" have attained the high standards of loudness. JMO.

Yup. It was deafening

Did not get to attend that one but Nebraska 2010 was definitely a throwback to the Wrecking Crew days. It was loud as hell that night. 74-72 was pretty good also

The loudest at Kyle imho ... the first possession of the Ole Miss 2014 game.

Been to my share of games at Kyle. More SWC and Big 12 than SEC. Many talk about the loudest games ... vs Nebraska '98 and '10 and numerous tu games. The loudest ever I experienced was vs Ole Miss '14 in the middle of the Kyle renovation ... 105K capacity ... 110,633 broke A&M, SEC, State of Texas attendance records.

My ears were ringing like I've never experienced. Ole Miss and Bo Wallace were not intimidated in the least. We played like crap, and let Bo Wallace and company "out score" us 35-20 ... ha! They kicked our Summy butts. Kenny was no "thrill" on that day ... but it was the loudest start to a Kyle field game ever. After the 1st quarter ended 14-0 ... my ears were no longer ringing as the loud had stopped.

Once we are playing very meaningful games that can decide the conference, it will be extremely loud. All of these games listed were big games at the time.

Tennessee 16 we were undefeated and halfway thru the schedule.

Nebraska 10 we were playing for a share of the big 12.

Lsu 18 we hadn't beaten lsu in a very long time.

Ole miss 14 we were ranked 14 at 5-1 and hosting the 3rd ranked ole miss rebels.

Bama 13 we thought if we could beat bama we would win the sec that year. The whole off-season was spent building up that game.

JFF racks up 560 yards and we still lost.

That was insanely loud. I may rank that game above the UCLA comeback as my most hated Sumlin game of all time. The crowd was SO ready for a big win at home and the team was absolutely unprepared

While I was a student, we didn't have much to get loud about. But, while I was still in high school, l attended the 1967 sip game and the loudest I ever heard Kyle was during Bob Long's catch and touchdown run. After the game, as we were leaving, someone weakly yelled Beat The Hell Out Of Alabama. They were met with silence, because everybody was yelled out.

Maybe we should try being loud at every game, not just one or two per year.

just saying...
