Several on here have commented about OU, Tennessee, Arkansas and others who have huge legions of fans who pay attention to recruits on Twitter. Like it or not, recruits love the attention and our lack of a huge "following" online is hurting our team in recruiting at the moment. Don't get me wrong, Jimbo and company are doing very well but we aren't doing all we can to support them.

With "Name Image Likeness" coming in the very near future this "following" from a teams' fans will help demonstrate to a recruit the type of NLI money they MAY receive if they attend a certain school. We have the third largest stadium in the country and the biggest stadium in the best conference and our Aggie Network is gigantic and unique. Yet we are woefully behind many of our national and local recruiting competitors in showing these highly impressionable kids the love on social media!

What should we do? I believe we ALL need to have twitter accounts and follow every recruit. It's easy enough, Billy and staff constantly post their names and embed twitter profiles and posts. Follow a recruit, like their posts and consider retweeting positive posts about A&M. Respond to posts with A&M GIF's or pictures and use the current year's recruiting slogan hashtag, #aggievi21on in your responses. Be courteous, always be positive about the Ags and don't put down other teams who may be recruiting the kid.

What should we avoid? Never bash a kid or question their decision if they don't choose A&M, go on a visit to another school, rag on A&M, etc. Nothing good can come from it.

Most importantly, never DM or contact recruits. Leave that to coaches and TexAgs recruiting analysts.

NOW is the time to make a difference.

Just give them a like, congratulations, or a picture of Kyle field under the lights. You don't even have to use a picture of yourself in the profile picture if it makes you feel better. Good gosh it's not like you're trying to lure them into your van for some candy.

If it gives us a slight edge to win some of these recruits by showing support, and you enjoy Aggie football and want an improved product on the field, why not take ten seconds post a thumbs up and Gig'em?

Good idea OP. Unfortunately, it's been tried before here and on premium. The Aggie fan base just doesn't care enough about winning to put in the effort on Twitter, Instagram, etc with recruits.

Seriously, twitter stalking teenagers is a bad look for 40 year old men.

As prospects monetize their recruitment, Youtube subscribers will be a whole lot more important going forward. Problem is, how do you segment subscribers by school? However, tweeter followers will be key to driving subscribers.
