I was wondering why they look significantly bigger than our linemen. Same thing was noticed by FSU beat writer on the size of a recent FSU grad transfer. We need to get in the weight room.

There is a massive difference between signing a 4 or 5 star player OR signing a 4 or 5 star player and also convincing them that it is in their best interest to redshirt.

4 and 5 star players with a redshirt year to eat and lift

RS Freshman may dabble on special teams

RS Sophomores are backups that see regular playing time.

RS Juniors are starters that dominate and win championships and then go to the NFL.




Signing 4 and 5 star players is GOOD recruiting
Start convincing 4 and 5 stars to WAIT is GREAT recruiting.

I have believed for a long time that Bama juices as does LSU, they have both been caught on deer antler.
It is one of the reasons that Bama talent is so dang big and good in college and so few pan out in the pros.

And then they go to the combine every year and are the same size, speed, etc as the guys from other schools.

Actually, Bama's 2 OL at this year's combine were on the smaller side at 6-4/302 & 6-4/307

Recruit bigger humans then they'll look even bigger when they spend time in your program.

I guess players have to be clean for the combine? You could still go off it soon enough and keep the gains. The problem is guys like Cushing, who couldn't quite cut it without cheating. If it's endemic in a program, eventually the NFL would steer clear of those guys. Or, maybe it's easy to cheat in the NFL too.

How long do we have to make excuses?

Sitting close to the field it was painfully obvious how huge they were.

Perhaps if they peed in a cup we could find out their secret!!

I was sitting close to the field too, and actually I did not arrive to Kyle Field until the start of the 3rd QTR.... The first thing that I thought was, "wow, the Alabama players are huge and they looked unnaturally large". I remain suspicious regardless of recruiting prowess.
