I always see this and it makes me scratch my head. Outside of accelerating the arms race of coaching salaries...which is a war we are in a great position to win, the bank is unlimited. What is an extra $2m a year to keep stability in a key area of your staff for recruiting, etc.

Not saying Elko is the guy (not saying he isn't) but the idea we can't afford to match whatever comes his way is silly

You must not have paid attention last offseason. Nor do you understand that head coaching vacancies are filled around bowl season.
