And expecting a different result. I'm tired of this program.

I think the Texas A&M administration should be arrested. They are straight up robbing Texas A&M fans and supporters of this program. It is over $1,000 to enjoy a game in CS. $400 per night, 2 night minimum and $200 for nosebleed tickets on third deck. All to watch this team consistently lose conference games in Kyle Field.

I will say 1 positive thing to avoid jumping off a bridge. Mike Elko baited Tua into throwing that interception by Demani Richardson. Bama had Jerry Jeudy lined up in the slot uncovered. Carper the safety was on the line by was sliding over to cover. Jimbo frantically called timeout. Bama came back out of the timeout with the same formation and we left Jeudy once again uncovered in the slot. Carper and the LB dropped back in zone leaving Jeudy open, and Demani stepped in front of the pass.

One of the few cases I've seen in recent memory of outstanding coaching.

Feel better? Is calling for people to get arrested the new calling for people to get fired?

INSANITY. the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness.
"he suffered from bouts of insanity"

Doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results is the definition of digging a tunnel, oil and gas exploration, and even military engagement ya doofus.

Ex: keep digging, no oil? Keep digging, no oil? Keep digging, hey look we found oil!

Been going to games for 20 years and I have only stayed in a hotel for 1 night. We usually drive down the morning of the game and then drive back home after it's over. It's a 3 hour drive from CS to Dallas so it's not a big deal.

If money is the problem don't stay the night.

Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, Dallas, San Antonio are all less than 3 hours away.

If you live farther, then grab a motel on the way home that's an hour or so outside CS.

Nothing says you have to spend money like rich Ags.

OP, I learned the fundamentals of guitar and then kept playing stuff over and over. I sucked. And I kept playing. And I kept sucking. Very gradual improvement for months on end. Then all of a sudden, after being stuck on a plateau for seemingly forever I started playing stuff effortlessly. Something clicked.

Jimbo has some great players, but we have holes in the roster. We're recruiting outstanding, but it's hard using so many young guys. Jimbo is teaching them how he wants it done. He's doing it for the long haul, not a flash in the pan like 2012.

You have to learn patience and not let a game/sport ruin your happiness. Perspective.

Also, if you pull the rope on your lawnmower and it doesn't start the first time, do you give up as it would be insanity to keep trying?

If it's over $1000 per game, buy yourself a camper and get a tailgate spot. It will be cheaper in the long run. Or...watch the game on TV. Or...don't become emotionally invested in a bunch of 20yr olds playing a game. It will be OK.

Also what specifically do you want the big shots to do? They hire what they think are the best coaches. They pay for awesome facilities. What else can they do?

It sucks we can't win vs the #1 team this year (we've tried twice), but there isn't an easy fix

I said this during the Sumlin era and no one listened: if you want the season ticket prices, etc to start going down STOP RENEWING THEM.

I can't afford season tickets anyway, so not my problem at the moment. Enjoy the game on your 32" TV like the rest of us #LOLPoorz

You could have gotten a cheap pair of tickets to the bama game. They were all over the place on the ticket board.

No one is making you spend that money on tickets at the game. We dont live in a socialist country and you get to choose where you want to spend your money.

If you'd quit acting like a spoiled d-bag and not assume that money can buy everything your life would be a bit more pleasant..

Additionally, Insanity is a legal term and not one of a psychological classification.

You are mentally ill, therefore you should enter a plea of "not guilty by reason of insanity"

That's what AA claims is the definition of insanity. I bet a lot of people have followed that up with that bolded sentence as well.

the one thing I wish the big shots would do is get smarter with coaching contracts. I realize it is a competitive field and you have to pay more than you want for an established name. With that said, Fran and Sumlin's contacts came back to bit us big time, which was completely predictable.

Instead of giving Jimbo ten years out of the gate, how about something like 'ten years but for every season you win six or fewer we knock off three years'? I know it is too late for this, but in the future, I would hope we would have some sort of performance based feedback. If a coach is scared of losing some guaranteed years with a low bar of six games, pass and roll the dice on a young guy hungry for a shot at a major coaching gig.

Am I nuts?

Insanity is letting sports rule your happiness/sadness/anger factor. I was that way for a long time.

Especially dumb in college sports, where it's kids ages 18-21 that you're mad at for not being better. If you don't want to spend money on going to game, nobody's making you. You're paying for the experience, nobody can guarantee you a result. If we won 10 games a year would your life be so much better than when we win 8? If so, you need to get a life.

Insanity is thinking someone should be arrested for setting their prices at the point the market allows them to be at.

If you don't think it's worth it to pay that much, don't go. This post reeks of poor millennial jealousy.

Am I nuts?

Yes.

Jimbo got a 10-year contract because he and essentially John Sharp agreed to a 10-year contract. He got 7.5 million per year straight up and guaranteed for the same reason.

Your only interest is you think you would do it differently if you were in charge. Yet...strangely enough...you have an Ag tag but no other indication you are directly participating and influencing the decisions.

Fuss away. It tells us more about you than the decision makers.

I'll note: in the 80s I met most of those folks. My scholarship sponsor introduced me to them and was disappointed when I didn't build those relationships. It's definitely a network of folks who work together to support the school and its athletics independently.

There have been very few coaching hires that in retrospect we both breakout hires AND turned out the ways folks expected.

The most interesting by far was Jackie. He came off back to back to back 11-1 seasons at Pitt following a one-year stint at Washington State during the year Johnny Majors won an NC at Pitt (pre-BCS.) He haD been in Johnny's staff prior to Wazzu and in spite of a 3-8 record in his first year was hired to replace Majors. Then went 50-9-1 at Pitt with the three 11-1. 4 of the 9 losses were in 1978.

Then he had three less than spectacular campaigns at Texas A&M: 5-6, 5-5-1, 6-5. Then ran off three straight conference championships. All three were while Arkansas was still in the SWC and each had a single conference loss.

1988 looked like this year: we played at the time #2 Nebraska, #17 LSU, #18 Oklahoma State, #11 Arkansas (still in conference at Fayetteville), and #20 Alabama and those were our only losses. We were ineligible for postseason and Arkansas ran the table and won the conference. And of course Jackie was gone after that.

If it takes Jimbo three or four years to produce 10 wins, well it does. Like Sumlin his first season was better than the previous baseline and without the benefit of a Heisman Trophy winner.

This years isn't great, and has some regression, but the improvement in execution and the lack of quit are both positive accomplishments if modest.

I don't see why in the second year when there is some positives we should spend time on what if scenarios. What if we just enjoyed it for a couple more years and only focused on true negatives and let him get his culture changes thoroughly in place and his process working?

Is that insane? Probably not...
