Madubuike, Mond, Mann to represent Texas A&M at SEC Media Days

It’s rare that a college football team can sport a possible first-round draft pick, star quarterback and award-winning special teamer on the same roster. It’s even rarer that all three of those players have a last name that starts with the same letter.

The Aggies find themselves in that position and will take the trio of Justin Madubuike, Braden Mann and Kellen Mond on the road. Texas A&M announced on Wednesday that the three have been appointed to represent their team, along with head coach Jimbo Fisher, at the upcoming SEC Media Days that will start on July 15 in Hoover, Alabama.

Madubuike is currently the anchor of a rising defense that made major strides last season. He led the way with his pass-rushing prowess and recorded 5.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss in 2018. Mond looks to pick up where he left off after throwing for over 3,000 yards and combining for 31 touchdowns in 2018. Mann sits atop the college punting ranks after a remarkable junior season that saw him average 51 yards per punt and take home the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s best punter.

The Aggies will surely have some questions to answer after an eye-opening 2018 season that saw them win nine games and take significant steps forward under Fisher’s regime. Combined with a grueling schedule that includes the likes of Clemson, Alabama and Georgia, it may make for an interesting few days in the heart of SEC territory.
